SCOTTISH FOLD BREED GROUP (SF/SFL)
The Scottish Fold (SF) is best known for its distinctive ears and large, round eyes, which give it a sweet, open expression. The
Scottish Fold Longhair (SFL) is the longhaired version of this breed.

PERMISSIBLE OUTCROSSES: American Shorthair, British Shorthair, British Longhair

HEAD:

Shape: Well rounded. Prominent cheeks with a jowly appearance. Overall look should
have a sweet, open expression. Should be round from any angle.

Ears: Folded forward and downward. Small, tightly folded ear preferred. The ears should be set in a cap-like fashion to expose a rounded cranium, not set high on the head. Size of ear is not as important as ear set and fold. Ear tips to be rounded.

Eyes: Wide open, large and round with sweet expression. Eye color to conform to
coat color.

Chin: Should be moderate.

Muzzle: Moderate wide muzzle to have well-rounded whisker pads.

Nose: Broad and short.

Profile: Gentle curve, brief stop is permitted.

Neck: Head should blend into a short neck.

BODY:

Torso: Body should be medium and well rounded. Should be even from shoulder to pelvic girdle.

Legs: Length in proportion to body. Cat should stand firmly and show no signs of weakness or lack of mobility in the hindquarters.

Feet: Toes to be neat and well-rounded.

Tail: Must show normal flexibility and be in proportion to the body.

Boning: Medium boning.

Musculature: The Scottish Fold should have a firm, muscular body, no sign of
softness or flabbiness should be present.

COAT/COLOR/PATTERN:
Length:
(SF) Should be short, double coat preferred. Should not lie flat to the body.
(SFL) Semi-long. Toe tufts and ear furnishings should be clearly visible. Ruff
and britches desirable.

Texture:
(SF) Should be plush, dense and resilient.
(SFL): Should be soft and stand away
from the body.

Pattern: All patterns.

Color: All traditional and pointed colors accepted.

OTHER:

Balance: Body should be medium and well-balanced and well-proportioned.

Condition: Cat must exhibit a healthy condition.

Temperament: Unchallenging. The Scottish Fold is a sweet-tempered,
affectionate cat and enjoys being with people.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Scottish Fold occurred as a spontaneous mutation in farm cats in Scotland. All bona-fide Scottish Folds trace their pedigree to Susie, the first fold-ear cat discovered by the founders of the breed, William and Mary Ross. The Breed was subsequently established by outcrosses to both pedigreed breeds and domestic cats in the United States. One word can describe the Scottish Fold and that is ROUND in every sense of the word. Round head, body, eyes, and feet. The Scottish Fold is best known for its distinctive ears and large, round eyes, which give it a sweet, open expression. They retain a "kittenish" expression their entire life. The shorthair is medium in size with a plush, dense coat. The longhair has the same standard as the Shorthair Fold with the exception of the coat, which is semi-long and stands away from the body. However, the longhair gives the breed a somewhat softer overall look.

ALLOWANCES: Seasonal changes in coat length and texture for the longhair fold. Lockets.
PENALIZE: A heavy brow ridge is to be penalized as it closes down the face, making the cat look as if it is scowling or frowning and detracts from the sweet, open expression. The forehead should be smooth. A definite nose break is considered a fault. Any hint of lack of mobility in the cat due to short course legs.
WITHHOLD ALL AWARDS (WW): Evidence of illness, poor health, emaciation.
DISQUALIFY (DQ): Kinked tail. Tail lacking in flexibility.

Temperament must be unchallenging; any sign of definite challenge shall disqualify. The cat may exhibit fear, seek to flee, or generally complain aloud but may not threaten to harm. In accordance with Show Rules, ARTICLE SIXTEEN, the
following shall be considered mandatory disqualifications: a cat that bites (216.9), a cat showing evidence of intent to deceive (216.10), adult whole male cats not having two descended testicles (216.11), cats with all or part of the tail
missing , except as authorized by a Board approved standard (216.12.1), cats with more than five toes on each front foot and four toes on each back foot,
unless proved the result of an injury or as authorized by a Board approved standard
(216.12.2), visible or invisible tail faults if Board approved standard requires disqualification (216.12.4), crossed eyes if Board approved standard requires disqualification (216.12.5), total blindness (216.12.6), markedly smaller size,
not in keeping with the breed (216.12.9), and depression of the sternum or unusually small diameter of the rib cage itself (216.12.11.1). See

Scottish Fold

To Shorthair breeds
Body
The medium to large sized cat is muscular and stocky. Chest, shoulders and back are broad and massive.
The legs are short and muscular, the paws are thick and round. The tail is of medium length, reaching at least to the shoulders. It ends in a rounded tip. It should not have thickened areas or stiffness and should be fully flexible up to the tip. The neck is short and solid.

Head
The head is rounded, massive, broad with a firm chin. The nose is short, broad and straight.
The profile is curved (without a stop). The cheeks are full and round.
The large, round whisker pads give definition to the short, pronounced muzzle.

Ears
The ears are small and forward folded, with slightly rounded tips, which point towards the centre of the head.
They are set wide apart and lie flat to the skull.

Eyes The eyes are large and round. They are wide set.
Eye colour corresponds with the coat colour.

Coat The coat is short and very dense, standing off from the body. It is plush, due to substantial undercoat.
The texture is crisp, not woolly.

Colour varieties
All colours, patterns with any amount of white and pointed colours with Siamese points without white are recognized. The description of colours is listed in the general list of colours.

Faults
Inflexibility in any part of the tail is a severe fault.

Breeding and
registration
Mating between Scottish Fold / Highland Fold x Scottish Fold / Highland Fold is not permitted.
It is only permitted to use British Shorthair / Longhair and Scottish / Highland Straight for breeding.
It is not permitted to register kittens with straight ears as British Shorthair / Longhair. They must be registered as Scottish / Highland Straight, and it is not permitted to use these kittens for breeding British Shorthair / Longhair.

BODY: medium, rounded, and even from shoulder to pelvic girdle. The cat should stand firm with a well padded body. There must be no hint of thickness or lack of mobility in the cat due to short, coarse legs. Toes to be neat and well rounded with five in front and four behind. Overall appearance is that of a well rounded cat with medium bone; fault cats obviously lacking in type. Females may be slightly smaller.

TAIL: tail should be medium to long but in proportion to the body. Tail should be flexible and tapering which may end in a round tip. Longer, tapering tail preferred.

COAT (SHORTHAIR): dense, plush, even. Short to medium-short in length. Soft in texture. Full of life. Standing away from body due to density, not flat or close lying. Coat texture may vary due to color and/or regional/seasonal changes.

COAT (LONGHAIR): medium-long to long hair length. Full coat on face and body desirable but short hair permissible on face and legs. Britches, tail plume, toe tufts, and ear furnishings should be clearly visible with a ruff being desirable. Seriously penalize: cottony coat, except in kittens.

AOV: straight ear.

PENALIZE: brow ridge.

DISQUALIFY: kinked tail. Tail that is foreshortened. Tail that is lacking in flexibility due to abnormally thick vertebrae. Splayed toes, incorrect number of toes. Any evidence of illness or poor health.
Palpable nose break. Any color or pattern showing evidence of hybridization resulting in the colors chocolate, lavender, the pointed pattern, or combinations of these colors with white, etc.

Scottish Fold allowable outcross breeds:British Shorthair, American Shorthair.

Штанишки, опушенный хвост, пучки шерсти между пальцами и щетки из ушей должны быть хорошо видны, воротник также крайне желателен. The mature specimen should be rich, even, unmarked colour, shading almost
imperceptibly to a slightly lighter hue on the underparts. Allowance to be made
for lighter body colour in young cats. With dilute colours in particular,
development of full body colour may take up to 16 months. Cats do darken
with age, but there must be a distinct contrast between body colour and points.
Point colour (mask, ears, feet and tail) all densely marked, but merging gently
into body colour. Except in kittens, mask and ears should be connected by
tracings. Eye colour Aqua: depth, clarity, and brilliance of colour preferred.

SCOTTISH FOLD ( CFF)

Scale of points (see also General Preface)
Head & (15) The head is to be well-rounded and blended into a short neck. The cheeks are well-
Neck developed, with jowls in the male. The face is rounded with a firm chin and welldeveloped
whisker pads.
Ears (30) The ears are small and folded forward and downward at the top of the ear pocket. The small, tightly
folded (double-folded) ear is preferred to the larger, more loosely folded (single-fold) ear. Kittens
may have a slight fold, but in the mature cat, a definite fold line should be visible.
Eyes (5) The eyes are large, round, well-opened and separated by a broad nose. The overall appearance
should be of innocence or surprise.
Eye color (5) Eye color should conform to coat color. Allowance shuld be made for development of eye color up
to the age of 18 months.
Nose (5) The nose is short with a gentle curve. A brief stop is acceptable, but a definite break shall be
considered a fault.
Tail (10) The tail is medium to long in length, tapering slightly and ending in a modified blunt tip. The tail
should be flexible and in proprotion to the body.
Body (15) The overall appearnce should be that of a solid, well-proportioned cat, medium to large in size. The
body should be the same width from the shoulders to the hips. Thre should be no lack of mobility
due to abnormal shortening or coarseness of the leg joints.
Coat (10) The coat should be short, dense and resilient. A double coat shall be penalized. Any color or
Coat Color combination of colors and/or patterns is acceptable. A white locket, groin spot and white toes
&Markings are acceptable.
Condition (5) Hard and muscular with no indication of fat or emaciation. An appearance of good health and
vitality.
WITHHOLD Rigid tail, straight ears, and lack of mobility in legs.
NOTE CFF Rules of Registration allow the use of the American Shorthair, and the British Shorthair as

ОБЩЕЕ ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЕ: Скоттиш Страйт - это хорошо сбалансированная кошка, умеренно мускулистая, не массивная, с круглой головой, большими круглыми глазами и сладким выражением лица. Короткая, густая, мягкая шерсть подчеркивает округлость линий. Коты массивнее кошек.
ГОЛОВА: Круглая, среднего размера, в пропорции к телу. Лоб округлый. Профиль с легким углублением ото лба к носу. Скулы низкие, округлые. Щеки выраженные. Подбородок сильный, округлый.
ГЛАЗА: Большие, круглые, широко расставлены, что придает лицу сладкое выражение. Цвет глаз соответствует окрасу шерсти, яркий, насыщенный, однородно прокрашенный.
НОС: Средней длины и ширины, не должен сужаться к мочке. Линия спинки носа прямая.
МОРДОЧКА: Короткая, обозначена, округлых очертаний с мягко округлыми подушечками вибрисс.
УШИ: Небольшие, широко расставлены, неширокие, но открытые в основании, без явно выраженного наклона вперед, с закругленными кончиками.
ШЕЯ: Короткая, толстая.
ТЕЛО: Средней величины и длины, мускулистое, округлых форм от плечей до тазового пояса. Отлично сбалансированное, без намека на раскормленность.
ХВОСТ: От среднего к длинному, гибкий, равномерно сужающийся к окончанию.
ШЕРСТЬ (SHORTHAIR): Короткая, неприлегающая с хорошо развитым подшерстком, густая, мягкая, шелковистая.
ШЕРСТЬ (LONGHAIR):От средне-длинной до длинной c умеренно развитым подшерстком. Мягкая и шелковистая. Желательно наличие украшающего воротника и длинных очесов между пальцами. На лице шерсть короткая, вокруг шеи более длинная. Относительно короткая в области лопаток, постепенно удлиняется по направлению к отлично опушенному хвосту. Серьезным недостатком является ватная шерсть, за исключением котят.
БАЛАНС: Пропорциональная во всех статях кошка.
НЕДОСТАТКИ: Зауженная мордочка, большие уши, маленькие и\или глубоко посаженные глаза, выраженный стоп, короткий хвост, длинные ноги.
ДИСКВАЛИФИКАЦИЯ: залом хвоста. Недостаточно гибкий хвост из-за чрезвычайно утолщенных позвонков. Вывернутые пальцы, некорректное количество пальцев. Любые признаки болезни или слабого здоровья.
Допустимые скрещивания с породами: Scottish Fold, Scottish Straight, British Shorthair. Котята, рожденные после 1 января 2010 года, одним из родителей обязательно должны иметь Скоттиш Фолда, т.е. котята от скрещиваний Scottish Straight х Scottish Straight, Scottish Straight х British Shorthair, рожденные после 1 января 2010 года, регистрироваться не будут.

ОБЩЕЕ ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЕ: кошки породы Скоттиш Фолд появились в результате спонтанной мутации, замеченной у амбарных кошек в Шотландии и селекционно- закрепленной с помощью скрещиваний с британскими короткошерстными и домашними кошками в Шотландии и Англии. В Америке скрещивания допускаются с American Shorthair и British Shorthair. Все живущие ныне кошки породы Скоттиш Фолд ведут свои родословные от одного общего предка – кошечки Susie, обнаруженной основателями породы Mary & William Ross на ферме McRae в Шотландии.
ГОЛОВА: хорошо округленная с крепким подбородком и развитыми челюстями. Мордочка с отлично округленными подушечками вибрисс. Голова переходит в короткую сильную шею. Отлично развиты щеки.
ГЛАЗА: широко открытые, придающие лицу сладкое выражение (sweet expression). Большие, круглые, широко расставлены. Цвет глаз соответствует окрасу шерсти. Голубые и разноглазые допускаются у белых, би-колоров и ванов.
НОС: широкий с незначительным переходом. Небольшой стоп допускается. Профиль мягкий, умеренно обтекаемый.
УШИ: сложены вперед и вниз. Маленькие, предпочтительно как можно меньше, плотно сложенные, со складкой. Должны быть поставлены таким образом, чтобы подчеркнуть округлый череп. Кончики ушей закруглены.
ТЕЛО: средней величины, округлых форм от плечей до тазового пояса. Крепкое, плотное сложение. Не должно быть даже намека на раскормленность или недостаток подвижности из-за коротких, грубых конечностей. Лапы аккуратные, округлые, с пятью пальцами впереди и четырьмя сзади. Общее впечатление: это прекрасно сложенный кот со средним костяком. Кошки могут быть немного мельче котов.
ХВОСТ: от средней длины до длинного, но в пропорции к телу. Хвост должен быть гибким и сужающимся, который может заканчиваться круглым кончиком. Более длинный и равномерно сужающийся хвост предпочтительнее.
ШЕРСТЬ (SHORTHAIR): короткая, роскошная, однородная. Длина от короткой до средне-короткой. Мягкой структуры, полная жизни. Отстоящая от тела из-за плотного подшерстка, не прилегающая. Текстура шерсти может варьировать в зависимость от окраса и/или региональных/сезонных изменений.
ШЕРСТЬ (LONGHAIR): от средне-длинной до длинной. Длинная шерсть на лице и теле желательна, но на лице и ногах допускается короткая шерсть. “Штанишки”, перьевой хвост, пучки шерсти между пальцами и ушные щеточки должны быть ясно видимы, желателен воротник. Серьезным недостатком является ватная шерсть, за исключением котят.
НЕДОСТАТКИ: выраженные надбровные дуги. Выраженный стоп.
